Do Something Nice for Your Mama

Home is where your mom is.

Mother's Day is just around the corner (you're welcome). From sweets to shopping to a stellar meal, I've got some ideas for how you can thank mom for, well, your existence.

If mom has a sweet tooth, there's no shortage of treats in Gwinnett.

The Chocolaterie in downtown Duluth is serving up beautiful, handmade chocolate truffles in unimaginable flavors. They've also got fudge, ice cream and other desserts. Be sure to check out their cards and gifts too.

At Peterbrooke Chocolatier, you can grab mom some delicious chocolate-covered popcorn or hand dipped treats, like graham crackers and cat tails.

If mom's into vintage candy, make her a goody bag at Rocket Fizz. They've got salt water taffy, giant lollipops and other candies you can't find anywhere else.

Whether you take mom shopping or go grab her a surprise, there are several stops in Gwinnett where you can find unique gifts.

Personify Shop in Duluth is actually the brainchild of mother-daughter team, Maddie and Tammy. You'll find on-trend clothes and accessories, handmade by talented artists.

If mom is into relaxing, pop into NV Bath Body Bar to grab the best bath bombs, handmade, local soaps, and customized scrubbing salts.

Mom might have more expensive taste. If that's the case, take her to pick out a special piece from Anna Balkan Jewelry. These handcrafted necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings are composed of the finest natural semi-precious gemstones and pearls from around the world.

Stellar Meals (I just like alliteration)

Treat mom to a bite to eat at some of Gwinnett's one-of-a-kind restaurants.

Take mom to brunch at Three Blind Mice in Lilburn. They've got a great menu set up for Mother's Day, including french toast, frittatas and low country shrimp and grits. Reservations are encouraged.

Mom might want to enjoy a nice, strong beer or bevvy after having to raise you. Good Word Brewing and Public House has excellent beer and cocktails, as well as a fabulous food menu.

Want to treat mom to a first-rate steak dinner? Take her to Bare Bones in Buford.

Self-proclaimed foodie and adventurer, Jessica loves to explore Gwinnett and all the great dining, shopping, activities and events the area has to offer. When she's not telling you guys what dishes to try or where to be, she's reading, spending time outdoors or catching up on the latest Netflix original series (who else loved Stranger Things??). She's got an Australian Shepherd that's basically her child and a husband, who always comes second to the dog (sorry, not sorry).
