How far in advance should I start planning my family reunion?

"8-10 months out is reasonable. That will give you plenty of time to secure locations, vendors and get invitations out."

What is the first thing i should do to start planning?

"Decide on where you would like to host your reunion. It’s the single most important decision you’ll make in the early stages of your planning. Once you have your location, you can then start planning all other aspects. You will know the venue size, what's included, etc."

What are the biggest struggles you see groups facing when planning?

"Planning too many events! It’s okay to have a few key events like opening night icebreaker, family banquet and farewell breakfast. However, allow downtime for families to choose their own adventures and check out local attractions. If you need help on ideas, I will be happy to provide sample itineraries."

What is your number one piece of advice?

"Attend a reunion workshop. It’s a great way to network with other reunion planners and information on attractions, hotels, and other fun activities. You’ll leave with a fresh outlook and the tools to help you plan the best reunion ever! For more information on upcoming workshops and FREE reunion help, go to Atlantareunions.com"
