No one knows Gwinnett better than our very own Explorers. Through our Ask an Explorer series, you'll learn all the reasons why our staff love Gwinnett.

Sr. Sales Manager Maurice Odoms handles all things related to weddings and reunions in Gwinnett, so he is full of knowledge about the fun things to do, the good food to eat, and so much more.

1. It’s well-known that you have a sweet tooth. Where is your favorite place to get a sweet treat, and what do you order?

Blue Rooster Bakery in downtown Lawrenceville. I love their variety of cakes; anything with chocolate and I’m sold!

2. If you were planning a night out in Gwinnett, what would it include?

I would start the night off at Top Golf in Buford and then dinner and drinks in downtown Duluth.

3. You work with a lot of couples who are getting married in Gwinnett. Can you discuss a few of your favorite venues?

I love working with all of our amazing venue partners. We are fortunate to have a variety of rustic, modern, historic, and elegant venues in Gwinnett. My personal favorites are Vecoma at the Yellow River in Stone Mountain, Ashton Gardens in Sugar Hill and TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth.

4. If someone was visiting the county for the first time, what are three things you’d suggest they do?

I would suggest checking out BAPS Mandir in Lilburn; it's one-of-a-kind. The summit skyride to the top of Stone Mountain Park provides an amazing panoramic view of the Downtown Atlanta Skyline and the Appalachian Mountains. I would also encourage visitors to check out our Korean dining scene.

5. Where is your favorite place to grab breakfast?

The Breakfast Bar in Duluth has become one of my favorites. Not only is their food delicious, but they also make some very cool cocktails!
