50 FREE (or almost free) things to do in Gwinnett

We all enjoy a good deal or discount, especially when it comes to finding things to entertain the whole family. Gwinnett's got a lot of fun things to do that will only cost you a few bucks or nothing at all!

Most of the free activities are noted below. Admission charges apply to some items on the list but they are minimal (around $10 per person). If you have suggestions to add to this list, please comment below. Be sure to share with all your friends and fam, so everyone can have a good time together!

Take a free tour of the BAPS Hindu Mandir (Temple). No religious affiliations needed. Check the website before arrival due to dress code requirements (ie. no shorts, sleeveless tops, etc). Donations welcome.
Calling all history buffs! Free admission is not the only reason to visit the Gwinnett History Museum and Lawrenceville Female Seminary. You can also see historic artifacts related to Gwinnett’s history, like the very first typewriter from Gwinnett’s historic courthouse and or desks from when the Female Seminary was still around. This location is listed on the National Register for Historic Places. Donations requested in lieu of admission.
Norcross Gallery & Studios is a quaint little volunteer-run art gallery off the beaten path. You can experience rotating art exhibitions year round. Kuzdu also offers art classes for your enjoyment, but those come at a bit more of a cost.
Cool off by playing in the fountains of Gwinnett! Suwanee Town Park, Duluth Town Green, Sugar Hill, Graves Park, E.E. Robinson Park and Mall of Georgia each offer interactive fountains for residents and visitors to use free of charge.

Lionheart Theatre puts on a lot of great shows. Sometimes, you can even catch a performance for around $18.
The Lilburn Splash Pad is the perfect place to take your kiddo so they can cool off and run around.
Special Needs Screenings at The Studio Grill - Duluth, shown on select Saturdays at 11:00am at all SMG locations unless noted otherwise. Tickets are available at the Box Office only as early as the Wednesday prior to these screenings. Tickets are free for all attendees and seating is first come, first served. Parental guidance is suggested.
The Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center (GEHC) has one of the best outdoor trails in Gwinnett. Walk from their building on a quiet, scenic trail near 985 through the woods near I-85. The museum features science and cultural related exhibits. GEHC also offers summer camps and classes for kids. Outdoor trails and admission to the museum are free.
The Hudgens Center for Art & Learning always has something going. You'll find rotating exhibitions in their various galleries. They also host events, like Toddler Friday (just $5!). General admission is always free.
Tribble Mill Park offers 700 scenic acres on the edge of Lawrenceville. Need we say more? Grab the kids and get outside. It's totally free to visit the park.
Learn a new sport! Alexander Park is home to an 18-hole disc golf course. Maple Creek Park has a 9-hole disc golf course and the city rents out equipment.
Gwinnett has numerous parks offering quality tennis courts for your use. Rates vary from $4/hour to $10 per 1.5 hours. The County also runs Hudlow Tennis Center, Mountain Park Tennis Center and Rock Springs Tennis Center.
Each and every Friday night from 5-8pm at Best Friend Park in Norcross (unless there is a rental scheduled) you can enjoy hours of badminton fun for just $2! All skill levels welcome.
Bring a picnic lunch, walk on the beautiful scenic trails, catch the Lasershow or enjoy a walk up the mountain at Stone Mountain Park. You'll have to pay a $20 vehicle entry, but it'll be worth all the memories.
Head into downtown Norcross for superior tasting experience. At VSOP Olive Oil & Vinegar Taproom, you can sample dozens of specialty oils and vinegars. They also carry handmade soaps and other products.
Take a free outdoor walking tour around SculpTour in Suwanee Town Center, and enjoy the art work of some very talented folk.

You can enjoy some wonderful music at Everett's Music Barn. Most concerts are free, but the barn does survive on donations if you're feeling generous.
Former cotton farm, McDaniel Farm, has been recreated a passive park that resembles a 1930’s farm. This is a great, free educational experience.
Get to know Gwinnett's local breweries, like Slow Pour, Good Word, and StillFire, by stopping by their tasting rooms. Tastes can be pretty cheap! Duncan Creek Park in Dacula and DeShong Park in Stone Mountain offer skating complexes for skateboarding, free of charge.

Aurora Theatre puts on award-winning plays throughout the year. They also host Aurora Children's Playhouse. The theatre works to assemble the best children's performances in the region. Tickets are just $7.

If you're craving a day on the water, check out Lanier Park in Buford. It's just $5 per vehicle and $2 per person, and you'll enjoy beautiful beaches and a picnic area.
Immerse yourself in classic and contemporary art at Sugar Hill's new City Art Gallery. The bright and airy space casts a spotlight on an eclectic mix of changeable featured works and traveling exhibitions from local and non-local artists.
Stroll through Suwanee on the Suwanee Bike Trail, which connects almost 400 acres of park land and has free bike rentals at 3 parks for up to 2 hours.
The Gwinnett County Public Library has all kinds of amazing programming for folks of all ages. Be sure to visit the newly renovated Lawrenceville Hooper-Renwick Branch that offers a full-service library and free immersive exhibits that showcase the accomplishments and memorabilia of the Hooper-Renwick School.
Stop by Downtown Norcross and visit the Fire Station Museum, where kids and adults will be entertained. Take a look at a restored firetruck along with other fire artifacts. Call the Welcome Center before visiting (678-421-2048).
Take in some history. Head over to the Museum of Buford to learn more about this historic cities past. Admission is free.
