BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir (Hindu Temple)
Overview
The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is the largest Hindu Mandir (temple) in the United States. More than 34,000 individual stone pieces were carved by hand in India, shipped to the USA, and assembled in Lilburn. The Mandir is completely etched with intricate carvings, depicting a mosaic of tales of inspiration, devotion, and historic figures from Hinduism. For Individuals & Families: The Mandir is open to all and entry is free. Individuals and families are not required to book their visit in advance. Visiting hours are from 9 am to 6 pm daily with the best times to visit being from 9 am to 12 pm and 3:30 pm to 6 pm. Audio tours are available in multiple languages in the Mandir Gift & Book Shop. Helpful Tips: Modest dress code required: NO shorts or skirts above the knee, NO tank tops or sleeveless tops. Please leave all personal belongings/backpacks inside your vehicle. Conduct: Cell phones must be switched off inside the Mandir. Please observe silence and refrain from touching or leaning against the delicate carvings in the Mandir. Photography: for personal use may be taken from ground level outside the Mandir only. No photography or video inside the Mandir.
