Gwinn & Tonic

The Hunt for Gwinnett’s Signature Sip

In 2025, we asked a simple question: What does Gwinnett County taste like? Every iconic city has its drink—New York has the Manhattan, and New Orleans has the Sazerac. We set out to create a cocktail that would become a permanent fixture on our menus and a symbol of our local spirit.

The Gwinn & Tonic Cocktail Contest was born.

Throughout October, the county’s finest mixologists rose to the challenge. The criteria were strict: 2 ounces of gin, a splash of tonic, and a precise balance of 2 to 4 unique ingredients. After reviewing 16 innovative submissions, we invited eight finalists to a live tasting. Our panel of local influencers and food critics judged each creation on flavor, aroma, creativity, and presentation.

Meet the Champion

While the competition was fierce, one drink achieved near-perfection. Scoring a staggering 39 out of 40 points, the recipe crafted by local Bar Manager Garrett Tansel was crowned the official Gwinn & Tonic.
