Overview
From Roots to Harvest
The Red Clay Ramble is a Georgia-grown Music & Harvest Festival celebrating the state's rich musical roots, local agriculture, nature, folk art, food, and creative communities. Spend the afternoon and evening discovering regional music, local makers, farmers, artisans, interactive demonstrations, food, drinks, and more. All coming together for a celebration of music, harvest, art, and community. Come for the music. Stay for the Ramble.
What is a Ramble
In Music:
- A Ramble is an improvisational jam session. A “Midnight Ramble” refers to late night jam sessions that take place when members of multiple bands come together to improvise after a concert or music festival.
- “Ramblin’ Man” is a top hit by The Allman Brothers Band (from Macon Georgia) referencing a musical tour on Highway 41 which connects Macon to Atlanta and the Appalachian region.
In Agriculture:
Plants that grow in a sprawling or wandering manner trailing across the ground, climbing walls, and covering fences. Ex: Pumpkin Vines and Hops.
From Roots to Harvest, the RED CLAY RAMBLE is a metaphor, spreading the good news of Georgia’s regional collaboration, artistic cultivation, nature appreciation, and agricultural interdependence.
