Tour Operator

Southern Beer Tours began in November of 2013 with Justin Hall and Jonathan Oliver. Their goal is to bring a better understanding of the growing Atlanta craft beer market, in the simplest way possible. They pick up the beer tour guests, bring them to several breweries, all without lines or driving. Their beer tours bring people straight to the source of the craft beer movement in Atlanta and now to the suburbs in Gwinnett County. Their passion and dedication to craft beer excellence makes us the best way to experience craft breweries in metro Atlanta.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any Covid-19 precautions?

Yes, please read this blog to learn more about how our beer tours will maintain social distancing and ensure safety for all participants.

Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?

Yes. The Southern Beer Tour website is set up to easily complete your registration and secure payment for any tour. We need to have a head count in order to work with our partners so they can make arrangements and prepare space for the group. These tours do sell out, so be sure to book yours soon.

Will I get a refund if I have to cancel?

Under normal circumstances all sales are final, but during this pandemic we will refund, reschedule, or issue a gift card for any purchase that is affected during this time. Your choice. We have also lowered our minimums for tours from 10 guests to 8 guests per tour. If we have to cancel, you will be notified at least 48 hours in advance.

Do I have to tip the staff at each stop?

No. All charges and gratuities for the activities and products at each tour stop are included with your ticket price.

What if a tour does not meet minimum enrollment?

We do have the right to cancel any tour that does not meet the minimum attendee requirements. You will be notified at least 48 hours in advance and offered the option of a refund or the ability to schedule another tour.

Are there age restrictions?

All participants must be 21 or older to join our tour. IDs will be checked before boarding the bus. We do not offer refunds for underage purchasers.

Are the tours handicap accessible?

The trolley we use for transportation between restaurants is not handicap accessible. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate guests in wheelchairs.

Can I bring my dog?

As much as we may LOVE dogs, they are NOT permitted on any brewery tour.

What happens if it rains?

Tours will run rain or shine. However, we will not run the tour during severe weather. If the tour is canceled due to weather, you will be notified and will have the option of a refund or to schedule a future tour.

Where is the pickup and drop off?

For those coming from Atlanta, we pickup in Buckhead at the Lindbergh Taco Mac. We are 100 yards from the Lindbergh Marta train station. The address is: 573 Main St NE, Atlanta, GA 30324

For those starting in Gwinnett, TBD.

Are there bathroom breaks?

Yes. Most of our stops will have facilities available for use.

What should I wear and bring? Are cameras allowed?

Please dress appropriately for the weather, and remember that all of our stops are indoors, but we will be walking to and from the bus for driving tours, or walking entirely on the walking tour. Feel free to bring bottled water. Cameras are definitely allowed to capture your memories along the way.

Where do we go?

How many drinks should I expect on each trip?

Our tour will include 1 pint at each brewery stop for a total of 3 drinks. After that, please feel free to purchase any additional beverages you may like from the breweries directly. We do this to allow you to make your own tour. Don't want a stout? Love one brewery more than another? It's up to you!

What is included in the gift bag?

We include a gift bag for each person on every trip. In this gift bag you will find a small snack, water, a koozie. More water and snacks will be available on the bus for your enjoyment.

No. You will be sampling a lot of beer on your trip. We want to do our part to make sure no one is over served. Some exceptions will be made, but these will always be announced before hand.

How should I get home?

We highly encourage arranging a designated driver to pick you up after the tour or to use Uber / Lyft. Also our Atlanta pickups / drop offs will always be near a MARTA station. If you need help planning before the tour please contact us. During the tour your guide is always there to help.
