Memorial Day is a time to remember the fallen soldiers who have served in the country’s armed forces. And, Gwinnett has plenty of ways for you to pay your respects to these heroes. Check out seven ways you can commemorate Memorial Day this year.
Memorial Day Weekend at Stone Mountain Park
Stone Mountain Park honors military service men and women with four days of patriotic activities May 22 – 25. Highlights include performances by the 116th Army Band, park attractions including Dinosaur Explore, Scenic Railroad, and Summit Skyride, and the return of the Music Across America Drone & Light Show followed by a special salute to the troops and epic fireworks finale all four nights of the holiday weekend. The park also welcomes those who have served and their families with free and discounted admission.
Active duty, veterans, and retired military personnel will receive one free Attractions Ticket with a valid ID* and will save up to 30% off per person for immediate family members. Light Show and military band performances are included with an Attractions Ticket or Mountain Membership.
May 22nd: Red, White, Bluegrass, and Bach Memorial Day Concert
In collaboration with Everett’s Music Barn, join in the patriotic fun at the city’s annual Red, White, Bluegrass & Bach Memorial weekend concert! This annual Memorial Day event fills Suwanee Town Center with family fun, including food trucks, a musical salute to our troops and veterans, a performance by the Main Street Symphony Orchestra, and a regional act of bluegrass music! Weather permitting, a visit from Fort Moore's Silver Wings Exhibition Team may also "drop" in!
Wear your red, white, and blue, and bring your blankets & lawn chairs to come and celebrate in Suwanee!
May 25th: Memorial Day Ceremony
Gwinnett Fallen Heroes Memorial in Lawrenceville @ 1 pm
The program includes remarks by community leaders, a keynote address by a veteran, a three-volley salute, and a wreath laying, each gesture a symbol of our enduring respect.

Downtown Dacula @ 10 am
Join the city of Dacula for its annual Memorial Day parade, a solemn event intended to remember and honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.
May 27th: Memorial Day Ceremony
Sugar Hill Veterans Memorial @ 10:30 am
Join the City of Sugar Hill to honor and commemorate the brave soldiers we’ve lost this Memorial Day. The Memorial Day Ceremony will be held in front of the Veterans Memorial on West Broad St. from 10:30 a.m. – noon on May 27. You may also live stream this special observance on our Facebook page, @cityofsugarhill, when the ceremony begins.

In remembrance of those who have given their lives in the line of duty in service to the country, Norcross will be hosting a Memorial Day Celebration.

Peachtree Corners Town Center @ 9 am
The Memorial Day Challenge is an obstacle course-themed physical competition for competitors ages 9 to 18. Its purpose is to provide a physical competition for our youth and to increase the knowledge and appreciation of Memorial Day and those we honor.
