Memorial Day Weekend In Gwinnett

Memorial Day is a time to remember the fallen soldiers who have served in the country’s armed forces. And, Gwinnett has plenty of ways for you to pay your respects to these heroes. Check out seven ways you can commemorate Memorial Day this year.

 

Memorial Day Weekend at Stone Mountain Park

FREE TICKETS FOR ACTIVE DUTY, MILITARY PERSONNEL, AND VETERANS WITH VALID MILITARY ID 

*Limit 1 Admission ticket per valid Military ID*

Stone Mountain Park honors military service men and women with four days of patriotic activities May 23 – 26.  Highlights include performances by the 116th Army Band, park attractions including Dinosaur Explore, Scenic Railroad, and Summit Skyride, and the return of the Music Across America Drone & Light Show followed by a special salute to the troops and epic fireworks finale all four nights of the holiday weekend. The park also welcomes those who have served and their families with free and discounted admission.

Active duty, veterans, and retired military personnel will receive one free Attractions Ticket with valid ID* and will save up to 35% off per person (ticket is $24.99 + tax for ages 3+) for immediate family members. Light Show and military band performances are included with an Attractions Ticket or Mountain Membership.

Suwanee Town Center Park  @ 7:00 pm
Features fun and patriotic music, bluegrass music, a salute to our veterans, food trucks, and more – wear your red, white, and blue!

 

May 23rd: Summer Concert Series- Side Piece

Thrasher Park in Norcross 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm 

Enjoy tunes from a lineup of talented performers while you eat at a local restaurant or picnic in the park. It's the perfect way to spend a summer evening! 

 

 

May 26th: Memorial Day Ceremony 

Gwinnett Fallen Heroes Memorial in Lawrenceville @ 1 pm 

The program includes remarks by community leaders, a keynote address by a veteran, a three-volley salute, and a wreath laying, each gesture a symbol of our enduring respect.

May 26th: Memorial Day Parade 

Downtown Dacula @ 10 am 

Join the city of Dacula for their annual Memorial Day parade, a solemn event intended to remember and honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice. This year's theme is "They Answered The Call, They Paid The Price"

May 26th: Memorial Day Ceremony

Sugar Hill Veterans Memorial @ 10:30 am
Join the City of Sugar Hill to honor and commemorate the brave soldiers we’ve lost this Memorial Day.

 

May 26th: Norcross Memorial Day Celebration

Thrasher Park 11:30 am - 1:00 pm 
In remembrance of those who have given their lives in the line of duty in service to the country, Norcross will be hosting a Memorial Day Celebration. 

 

May 26th: Memorial Day Service and Youth Challenge

Peachtree Corners Town Center @ 7 am 

The Memorial Day Challenge is an obstacle course-themed physical competition for competitors ages 9 to 18. Its purpose is to provide a physical competition for our youth and to increase the knowledge and appreciation of Memorial Day and those we honor.
