Where To Get the Best Ice Cream in Gwinnett
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!
Did you know July is National Ice Cream Month? According to the International Dairy Foods Association, in 1984, President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday of the month as National Ice Cream Day. There's a proclamation and everything, so really, you have to eat ice cream this month.
Each Summer seems to get warmer and warmer and nothing cools you down better than some delicious ice cream. You can get it on a cone or in cup with thousands of flavors to choose from. Gwinnett has many ice cream spots for you to cool down in with your family and friends. We put together a list of a few places we recommend you try out.
Ice cream rolls are the new fad, and Kremo in Peachtree Corners makes some great ones. Watch them chop and roll gourmet ice cream in flavors like toasted coconut and New York cheesecake.
Butter & Cream
If you're headed to downtown Norcross be sure to stop by the city's newest ice cream shop, Butter & Cream. With flavors like Tahitian Vanilla and Dark Chocolate Sorbet you can't go wrong. They even have some dairy-free versions for our lactose-intolerant friends.
If you're looking some unique flavors, visit The Chocolaterie in downtown Duluth. You'll find flavors like pistachio cherry and lavender. You should probably order some of their amazing chocolate truffles to go with your ice cream, too.
Swirlz Yogurt Bar
I love building my own meal. At Swirlz, you get to pick from over 200 flavors of frozen yogurt, and then add whatever toppings you fancy.
At Rita's, you can order Italian ice, cream ice or frozen custard. Try a blendini, Italian ice combined with frozen custard and your favorite toppings, like peanut butter cups.
Berens Frozen Custard
Berens earned the title of best ice cream in metro Atlanta by the AJC. You can try all their wonderful flavors of frozen custard, which is like ice cream, but creamier and smoother.
There are certainly more places that could go on this list, but this should be enough to get you started. Enjoy National Ice Cream Month!
