Suwanee Chicken and Pizza

스와니 치킨 & 피자

By now you've all heard of the new "KFC" joints popping up across America. Of course, I'm talking about Korean fried chicken. Unlike its American cousin, Korean-style fried chicken is usually twice cooked for a finer, crispy skin and is often accompanied by a variety of sauces ranging from a traditional soy based one to a spicy sweet version known as yangnyum. You order by the bird and the most popular combination is typically half just plain fried and half yangnyum.

Suwanee Chicken and Pizza specializes in Korean fried chicken, but they also offer pizza. Standard cheese, pepperoni, and supreme are available, but sets this place apart is the Korean twists on toppings and crusts. For the adventurous eater, you may want to try their pizza topped with bulgogi, traditional marinated Korean-style beef. Another popular topping is Asian sweet potato purée available as a topping and stuffed into the crust. It may look like mashed potatoes, but one bite and you'll realize that this experience is something completely new.

So if you're looking for a late night snack or just want to try some good old American classics with a twist, be sure to visit Suwanee Chicken and Pizza located in the Assi Plaza off of Old Peachtree Rd. in Duluth.
