(678) 377-4664Amy LaFaye's restaurant in Dacula is a down-home tribute to Southern cooking and family recipes. Owner Amy Gravitt and her family and friends run the place just like a busy kitchen at home, with smiles, casual laughter and an occasional holler to the kitchen in the back for more biscuits. The breakfast menu includes a la carte items as well as a hearty breakfast platter. You can come in and order a plain biscuit, a biscuit with breakfast meat (chicken, steak, sausage link, tenderloin, ham, sausage patty or bacon) or a whole platter with biscuit, eggs, and plain, cheese or butter grits, meat and gravy. The biscuits are huge and made from scratch, and the gravy (both milk and redeye) is also made from scratch. The grits are "real", not instant, and the eggs are freshly cooked all morning.
For big appetites with time to enjoy the feast, the platter is a favorite. For a quicker breakfast (but plenty filling), wrapped biscuits to go are popular.
The Friday evening dinner menu changes weekly but includes a choice of two meats, a long list of sides (pinto beans, boiled cabbage and macaroni and cheese are favorites), cornbread or rolls and a dessert.
