No one knows Gwinnett better than our very own Explorers. Through our Ask an Explorer series, you'll learn all the reasons why our staff love Gwinnett.
Meet our Marketing Coordinator, Kate Conaway, who grew up in Gwinnett County. Her Mom has worked for Gwinnett County Parks most of Kate's life so she brings a lot of knowledge and insight about all of our Parks to the marketing team.
1. What is your favorite thing to do in the county? Favorite place to eat?
My favorite thing to do in the county is enjoy all of our wonderful parks. My personal favorites are Little Mulberry and Alexander Park. I also love all free events that the downtown cities put on, they are so much fun! My favorite place to eat in Gwinnett is Ippolito's in Suwanee Town Center. They have the best pizza (the crust is the best part because of how fluffy it is) and the great Italian dishes they have.
2. Name a few of your favorite events, festivals, or weekend markets.
I love LIVE in the DTL that happens in Lawrenceville during the summer, there are various food trucks, local eats from downtown, and live entertainment. It's truly a wholesome event that brings the local community together for a night of fun!
3. What is something you find unique about Gwinnett? Any hidden gems people need to know about?
My favorite hidden gem is Little Barn in Downtown Lawrenceville. They have the best biscuits in the county with a price that just can't be beat!
